About
Opened at its Mosman site in 1916, the zoo is known for its conservation and breeding work as well as its setting. Visitors can see koalas, kangaroos, platypuses and other native species alongside animals from around the world, and many enclosures look straight across the water to the Opera House and the city skyline.
Best time to go: Take the ferry from Circular Quay and start at the top of the hill, working your way down.
