About
Archbishop Markus Sittikus built Hellbrunn in the early seventeenth century as a pleasure palace for summer days. Its water gardens are full of jokes, from stone seats that spray unwary guests to a mechanical theatre powered by water, and the park also holds the gazebo from The Sound of Music.
Best time to go: Visit on a warm day and be prepared to get splashed on the trick fountain tour.
