About
Proclaimed by President Paul Kruger in 1895, Groenkloof is regarded as the first game reserve on the continent. Just minutes from the city centre, its grassy hills and wooded kloofs are home to zebra, giraffe, wildebeest and many antelope, which can be seen from hiking and mountain-biking trails or on guided walks.
Best time to go: Walk or cycle the trails in the cool of the early morning, when zebra and giraffe are easiest to spot.
