About

Ski jumping has been held at Holmenkollen since 1892, and the current steel jump was built for the 2011 world championships. A lift and stairs lead to the top of the tower, where the view stretches over Oslo and the islands of the fjord. The ski museum below traces four thousand years of skiing, from ancient rock carvings to polar expeditions.

Best time to go: Take the metro up on a clear day and climb to the jump tower for the view over the city and fjord.
