About
Founded according to tradition in the 3rd century, Sumiyoshi Taisha is dedicated to gods of the sea and sailors. Its halls are built in the Sumiyoshi-zukuri style, one of the oldest forms of shrine architecture in Japan.
Best time to go: Morning, and during New Year when crowds come for first prayers.
