About
Two vast square pools sit in the footprints of the Twin Towers, with water falling into a central void and the names of the victims inscribed around the edges. The museum, set deep below ground among the original foundations, tells the story of the day and its aftermath through artefacts, testimony and remnants of the towers. The experience is moving and deserves time.
Best time to go: Visit the memorial pools first, then allow a few unhurried hours for the museum below ground.
