Opened in 2000, the link runs across the Øresund by a cable-stayed bridge before descending into a tunnel via an artificial island to reach Copenhagen. Its long, graceful span is visible from much of the Malmö shore, and it inspired the television drama The Bridge.
Best time to go: View it from the beach at Ribersborg or the Western Harbour, or cross by train to Copenhagen.
