About
The emperor Jahangir was laid to rest in a garden at Shahdara, on the west bank of the Ravi River, and his tomb was completed in 1637. The exterior is richly decorated with pietra dura inlay, while the interior is embellished with frescoes and marble. Together with the neighbouring Akbari Sarai and the Tomb of Asif Khan, it is on UNESCO's tentative list for World Heritage status.
Best time to go: Go in the morning, when the garden is quiet, and combine it with the Akbari Sarai and Tomb of Asif Khan next door.
