About
Completed in 1971, the National Mausoleum is the resting place of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, known in Pakistan as the Quaid-e-Azam. Its design is largely traditional, with a light touch of modernism. The complex also holds the tombs of his sister Fatima Jinnah and of the prime ministers Liaquat Ali Khan and Nurul Amin. It is one of the city's most visited sites and a national symbol.
Best time to go: Visit in the late afternoon, when the grounds are cooler and the building catches the evening light.
