About
At the heart of Sandton, the city's glossy business district, this Italian-style square is lined with restaurants and connects with a large shopping centre. Its focal point is a six-metre bronze statue of Nelson Mandela, unveiled in 2004 to mark ten years of democracy, which has become one of the most photographed monuments in the city.
Best time to go: Come in the early evening for a photograph with the statue, then dine at one of the square's restaurants.
