About
In the early 1960s this farm in Rivonia was used as a clandestine headquarters by leaders of the African National Congress and its armed wing. Nelson Mandela lived here for a time disguised as a gardener. A police raid in 1963 led to the Rivonia Trial, in which Mandela and others were sentenced to life imprisonment. Interactive exhibits tell the story.
