About
Built in 1799 for Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, the five-storey screen is pierced by hundreds of small latticed windows that let the women of the court watch street processions without being seen. Behind the famous front lies a surprisingly shallow structure of courtyards and ramps, and the upper levels look out over the rooftops of the Pink City.
Best time to go: See the façade in early morning sun, ideally from one of the rooftop cafés across the street.
