About
Galtaji has been a place of Hindu pilgrimage for centuries, and its present temples and pavilions of pink stone were largely built in the eighteenth century. Natural springs feed a series of bathing tanks down the gorge, and large troops of macaques give the site its popular name of the Monkey Temple.
Best time to go: Go in the late afternoon, keep snacks out of sight of the monkeys and climb on to the Sun Temple for sunset.
