About
Thiên Mụ, the Temple of the Celestial Lady, sits on Hà Khê hill on the north bank of the Perfume River, about 5 kilometres from the citadel. Its seven-storey Phước Duyên pagoda is regarded as the unofficial symbol of the city and has inspired folk rhymes and songs about Huế. It was built on the site of an older shrine and remains a place of worship.
Best time to go: Arrive by boat along the Perfume River in the late afternoon, and dress modestly.
