About
The Thiên Hậu Temple, officially the Tuệ Thành Assembly Hall, is a Chinese-style temple on Nguyễn Trãi Street in Chợ Lớn. It is dedicated to Mazu, the goddess of the sea, whom seafarers and traders prayed to for safe passage. It is one of the most atmospheric places of worship in Saigon and a good introduction to the Chinese heritage of Chợ Lớn. It is a short ride from Bình Tây Market, so the two fit well into one morning.
Best time to go: Combine it with Bình Tây Market in Chợ Lớn, and dress modestly.
