About
For more than a thousand years West Lake has inspired poets, painters and garden designers across East Asia. Its waters are crossed by the Su and Bai causeways and dotted with islands, and its shores are lined with pagodas, pavilions and tea houses that frame famous scenes such as Three Pools Mirroring the Moon.
Best time to go: Walk or cycle the causeways early in the morning, then take a boat across the lake.
