About
Once a separate village where wealthy families from Guadalajara built country houses, Tlaquepaque is now famous for pottery, glassblowing and decorative arts. Its colourful colonial streets are lined with galleries and workshops, and El Parián, a large square of restaurants, is a classic place to hear mariachis.
Best time to go: Come in the afternoon for the craft galleries, then settle into El Parián for mariachi music at dusk.
