About
Penang Hill is a group of peaks near the centre of Penang Island, about 9 kilometres west of central George Town. Its Malay name, Bukit Bendera, strictly refers to Flagstaff Hill, the most developed summit. The highest point, Western Hill, reaches 833 metres. The forested slopes stand out sharply from the lowlands, and the hill has long served as a cool retreat from the city below.
Best time to go: Ride up on a clear morning for the best views over George Town and the strait, before cloud builds in the afternoon.
