About
Fiesole is older than Florence, founded by the Etruscans, and keeps a Roman theatre and baths. From the main square, Piazza Mino, a steep lane climbs to the San Francesco convent, with a terrace looking over the entire Arno valley. A city bus from San Marco gets you there in about half an hour.
Best time to go: Late afternoon for the view and the cooler air, then dinner in town.
