About
Felsőtárkány sits where the wooded Bükk hills, much of them protected as a national park, begin to rise above the Eger valley. Marked trails lead from the village into beech and oak forest, and a narrow-gauge forest railway runs up into the valleys, making it the easiest taste of nature from town.
Best time to go: Take a half day for a forest walk or a ride on the narrow-gauge forest railway in summer.
