About
Completed in 1931, the arch honours the tens of thousands of soldiers of the British Indian Army who died in the First World War, and their names are carved into its stone. It closes the long vista of Kartavya Path from the Rashtrapati Bhavan, and the National War Memorial, opened in 2019, lies just beside it among the lawns and canals.
Best time to go: Come at dusk, when the arch is lit and Delhi families gather on the surrounding lawns.
