About
Opened in 2005 by the Swaminarayan movement, the central monument was built using traditional techniques without steel, and its surfaces are covered in thousands of carved deities, dancers and animals. Around it lie gardens, a stepped water tank and exhibition halls presenting Indian spiritual traditions, with an evening water and light show.
Best time to go: Allow a half day and leave phones and cameras behind, as they must be deposited before entry.
