About
The artist Chalermchai Kositpipat began rebuilding this temple in 1997 as a lifelong project, covering it in white plaster and mirrored glass to symbolise purity. Visitors cross a bridge over a sea of reaching hands representing desire, and inside, murals mix traditional Buddhist imagery with surprising figures from modern popular culture.
Best time to go: Arrive at opening to see the brilliant white façade before the tour buses arrive.
