About
Set on a wooded hill above Chiang Rai, the temple is said to hold a bone relic of the Buddha and is linked in local legend to mythical beings. Its chedi and terraces give wide views across the town and the surrounding countryside, and it is far quieter than the famous temples on the city's edge.
Best time to go: Go up in the late afternoon for the views over the city and the Kok River valley.
