About
Run by the Fine Arts Department, the museum stands in the north-west of the city close to the old temple of Wat Chet Yot. Its galleries trace the region from prehistory through the rise of the Lanna kingdom to modern times, with Buddha images, ceramics, weapons and everyday objects explained in Thai and English.
Best time to go: Visit early in your stay for a clear introduction to Lanna history, and combine it with nearby Wat Chet Yot.
