About
King Ottokar II of Bohemia founded the abbey in 1263, and it became one of the richest in the land before Hussite troops ransacked it. Guided tours lead through the Gothic church, the chapter house and the cloister, and the quiet riverside setting makes a peaceful half-day outing.
Best time to go: Combine it with a gentle canoe trip or cycle along the Vltava from Český Krumlov.
