About
Kleť rises above the forests north-east of Český Krumlov, and a stone lookout tower built in the 1820s makes it one of the oldest in Bohemia. From the top the view takes in the Šumava hills and, in exceptional visibility, the Alps; an astronomical observatory known for discovering asteroids shares the summit.
Best time to go: Take the chairlift up on a clear day; in autumn the Alps sometimes show on the horizon.
