About
The Victoria and Alfred basins were built in the nineteenth century and named after Queen Victoria and her son Prince Alfred. Today the waterfront mixes working boats and seals with markets, restaurants, the Two Oceans Aquarium and the ferry terminal for Robben Island. The mountain forms a dramatic backdrop to its quays.
Best time to go: Come in the late afternoon for a harbour cruise, then eat by the water as Table Mountain turns pink.
