About
Built in the 1630s for Afzal Khan Shirazi, a Persian scholar and poet who served as prime minister to Shah Jahan, the tomb is one of the few buildings in India decorated with glazed tile mosaic in the Persian manner. Much of the tilework has been lost, but surviving patches of blue, green and yellow hint at its original splendour.
Best time to go: Pair it with the nearby Tomb of I'timād-ud-Daulah for a quiet hour on the east bank.
