For more than six centuries the Hofburg grew wing by wing as the centre of Habsburg power. Today it holds the Imperial Apartments and Sisi Museum, the Imperial Treasury with the crown of the Holy Roman Empire, the magnificent State Hall of the National Library and the Spanish Riding School's Lipizzaner horses.
