One of the largest fish markets in the southern hemisphere, it handles an enormous variety of seafood caught around Australia and beyond. Wholesalers trade in the early hours, while retail counters, sushi bars and fishmongers serve the public, and many visitors simply buy a platter of fresh oysters and prawns to eat on the waterfront.
