Opened in 2022 beside the City Hall, the museum combines the former national gallery, the museum of decorative arts and the museum of contemporary art. Highlights include an early version of Edvard Munch's The Scream, Norwegian romantic landscapes and a long run of design from medieval tapestries to modern furniture. The luminous rooftop Light Hall is used for changing exhibitions.
