Bình Tây Market is the largest market in Chợ Lớn, the historic Chinese district of Ho Chi Minh City. It was built in 1928 to replace an earlier market that had burned down, which is why it was once called the new big market. The market and the streets around it offer a lively picture of the city's commercial life, far from the polish of District 1.
