Kosmonavtlar is a space-programme-themed station of the Tashkent Metro, honouring Soviet cosmonauts such as Yuri Gagarin and Valentina Tereshkova. It opened on 8 December 1984 on the first section of its line. Until 2018 it was forbidden to photograph the metro, which doubled as a nuclear shelter. In July 2026 the station was listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site with nine other modernist sites in Tashkent.
