À propos
The Ulugh Beg Observatory was built in the 1420s by the Timurid astronomer and ruler Ulugh Beg. It was the last great observatory of the medieval Islamic world. Astronomers including Jamshid al-Kashi and Ali Qushji worked here alongside Ulugh Beg himself. The observatory was destroyed in 1449 and lay forgotten until it was rediscovered in 1908, and the surviving remains can be visited today.
