À propos
Building began in the late sixteenth century and the cathedral was consecrated in 1649 under Bishop Juan de Palafox y Mendoza, though the towers were only finished decades later. Its sober grey stone exterior gives way to a richly decorated interior of side chapels, carved choir stalls and a grand neoclassical high altar.
Meilleur moment pour y aller: Step inside in the late morning, then return after dark to see the twin towers lit above the Zócalo.
