À propos
Built by the Dominicans from the late sixteenth century, the church hides behind a sober facade an interior thick with gilded stucco, including a famous genealogical vine of the Guzmán family on the underside of the choir. The former monastery beside it now houses the Museum of Oaxacan Cultures, whose treasures include the gold from Tomb 7 at Monte Albán.
Meilleur moment pour y aller: Step inside in the late afternoon, when warm light falls across the gilded nave and the plaza outside comes alive.
