À propos
Named after The New York Times, which moved its headquarters here in 1904, the square became the centre of the theatre district. Its illuminated advertising has been famous for more than a century, and the ball drop on New Year's Eve draws huge crowds. Parts of the square are now pedestrianised, making it easier to stand and take it in.
Meilleur moment pour y aller: See it after dark, when the giant screens are at their most dazzling, then walk on to a Broadway show.
