À propos
Begun in the late eighteenth century as a summer house for the viceroy, the castle later became a military academy, whose young cadets died defending it in 1847 during the US invasion. Maximilian and Carlota remodelled it as an imperial residence, and today its furnished rooms, murals and gardens form the National Museum of History.
Meilleur moment pour y aller: Walk up the hill in the morning and finish on the terraces, where the view runs down Paseo de la Reforma.
