Completed in 1726 by Jai Singh II to protect Amber and its palace, the fort served as a foundry and armoury and was never captured. Its most famous exhibit is the Jaivana, one of the largest wheeled cannons ever made, and its long walls, water reservoirs and watchtowers command wide views over the hills.
