À propos
The arch was built in the sixteenth century as an extension of the town walls to protect the quays, when Galway traded wine and goods with Spain and France. Beside it is the Galway City Museum, and across the water lies the Claddagh, the old fishing village famous for its ring.
Meilleur moment pour y aller: Sit by the river here on a fine evening, when locals gather along the quay.
