Información
Opened in 1964 in a building by Pedro Ramírez Vázquez, the museum is arranged around a courtyard sheltered by a vast concrete umbrella resting on a single column. Its halls hold the Aztec Sun Stone, a colossal Olmec head, a reconstruction of Pakal's tomb from Palenque and rich displays on the living indigenous cultures of Mexico.
Mejor momento para ir: Give it at least half a day and prioritise the Mexica hall with the Sun Stone, then the Maya galleries.
