Información
Batu Caves sits in a 325-metre limestone hill about 13 kilometres north of central Kuala Lumpur. The caves hold a series of Hindu temples, the best known a shrine to the god Murugan. A 43-metre statue of Murugan, one of the tallest in the world, stands outside. Each year the complex becomes the focus of Thaipusam, the Tamil Hindu festival that draws huge crowds of pilgrims. Dress modestly, with shoulders and knees covered.
Mejor momento para ir: Go early in the morning, before the heat and the crowds, and bring water for the long staircase up to the main cave.
