At the heart of Sandton, the city's glossy business district, this Italian-style square is lined with restaurants and connects with a large shopping centre. Its focal point is a six-metre bronze statue of Nelson Mandela, unveiled in 2004 to mark ten years of democracy, which has become one of the most photographed monuments in the city.
