Información
Built in the sixth century under Justinian to store water for the Great Palace, the cistern holds hundreds of marble columns. Walkways lead through the dim chamber to two columns resting on carved heads of Medusa, reused from older Roman buildings.
Mejor momento para ir: Go late in the day, when the queues shorten and the lit columns are most atmospheric.
