Saint Mark's Basilica

Información

Founded in the thirteenth century as the church of the Venetian duke of Crete, the basilica was rebuilt after earthquakes and converted into a mosque in the Ottoman period. Restored in the twentieth century, its arcaded front and airy interior now host art exhibitions and cultural events.
