Founded in 1259 by Vok of Rožmberk, the abbey became the burial place of the Rožmberk family and survived the Hussite wars unscathed. Guided tours reveal its Gothic church, cloister and a remarkable library, whose Baroque halls hold tens of thousands of volumes.
