Opened in 1940, the bridge was designed by John Bradfield, the engineer behind the Sydney Harbour Bridge, and remains the longest cantilever bridge in Australia. Its heritage-listed steelwork dominates the river bend, and visitors can walk its footpaths or join a guided climb to the summit for panoramic views of the city.
