Pierre Cuypers' grand building opened in 1885, with a passage through its centre that cyclists still use. Inside, the Gallery of Honour leads to Rembrandt's Night Watch, flanked by Vermeer's Milkmaid and works by Frans Hals and Jan Steen, while other rooms display ship models, Delftware and doll's houses.
