À propos
Copacabana grew rapidly after a tunnel connected it to the city centre in the 1890s, and the grand Copacabana Palace hotel set its glamorous tone in the 1920s. The black-and-white wave mosaic of its promenade was redesigned by Roberto Burle Marx, and the beach hosts football games, kiosks and the city's great New Year's Eve celebration.
Meilleur moment pour y aller: Walk the promenade early in the morning or at sunset, and keep valuables to a minimum on the sand.
